The Yucatan peninsula is the golden door entrance to the Maya world. Camouflaged in the spectacular ruins a limestone plateau supports tropical forests this is the Mayan Yucatan. Ancient memory permeates though the lush forests whispering the language of awakening. They occupied the states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas and Tabasco. The Mayans create in those who see them the awareness of nature and the spirit. At temples sprinkled all over the Yucatan, you feel a “mysterious energy” which is easy to perceive but not to explain.

Day 1: April 2nd. 2011. Arrival day. We all arrive into a city named Villahermosa. It is in the southern state of Tabasco, Mexico. Flights from the USA on Continental airlines via Houston arrive approximately at 9:00 pm. Upon arrival we are transfer to a local hotel for an overnight stay. Tour begins.
Day 2: April 3rd. Breakfast. After group introductions we begin our journey leave Villahermosa to Palenque and check in at our hotel. This powerfully and serene site is situated in the highlands of the Chiapas surrounded by dense jungle filled with parrots and monkeys.
Palenque the Maya’s most important centre dates back to BC time to early AD the city goes dormant until 1952 when an explorer located it. Palenque is simply magical. This highly charged Mayan site holds the keys of the future. The rich energy vibrates through your core, prompting you to release, let go and surrender deeply into your truth.
Recorded in hieroglyphic inscriptions Palenque consists of more than 200 buildings however more than 80% of the city is covered by rain-forest. The outside walls of Palenque’s buildings were not finished in the usual Mayan limestone face but were plastered to show a smooth finish. Beautiful carvings decorated the interiors. Some buildings, particularly the “Temple of the Inscriptions,” show extensive writing and the home to the great hall of records.
In the Keys of Enoch it states that Palenque is considered the head of geographical Dove Grid anchoring a new definition of peace and wisdom. Palenque is the center of the Earth’s Merkaba that connects with a universal grid. The locals call Palenque the navel of the earth (3rd charka) and holds a living library that reveals universal truth to those who listen with an open heart. Overnight Palenque– Chan-Khan Resort.
Day 3: April 4th. Breakfast. After breakfast we return to Palenque the heavenly city of light to bond and connect even deeper into the peace and harmony and oneness that this site offers us.
We start our morning with a visit to the museum that showcases some of the most exquisite spiritual art pieces – Palenque is considered the ‘Cosmic University of Regnum Art’, before continuing on to a number of temples. These include the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Sun, Forgotten Temple and the Temple of Inscriptions which contains the tomb of Pakal the Great, the mightiest of Mayan rulers. His energy still radiates at the Temple of Inscriptions.
A full day has been set aside to explore the magnificent site of Palenque, both guided and independently. The tranquility and energy is so palpable here it is important to provide personal time for quiet reflection. Overnight in Palenque– Chan-Khan Resort
Day 4: April 5th. Box Breakfast: We leave the beauty of Palenque behind as we continue on the Mayan Route traveling north to the Yucatan Peninsula. The safe drive from Palenque connects the grid creating a triangular energy vortex between Uxmal and Chichen Itza.
We visit the Mayan site of Edzná, “The House of the Sacred Mantras,” a site known for its acoustic vibration with the universe. This site is one of the most important Mayan sites.
After Edzná we drive to Campeche City for lunch. Afterwards onto Merida and check into the hotel. El Castellano. Here you can exchange money and shop. Overnight Merida.
Day 5: April 6th. Breakfast. Morning visit to Uxmal. We connect into the Venusian cosmology and divine feminine energy of Uxmal. Uxmal exudes grace and holds the perfect balance of female and male energies. In Mayan sacred geometry Uxmal structures are aligned to the sun, moon, and the reappearance of Venus.
Uxmal is the dominant Maya site in the Puuc. Founded about 600 BCE. Uxmal reached its apex in 800-1000 CE. Uxmal was a university to educate women, especially in the arts of sacred sexuality–a cosmic feminine University for priestess initiations.
Working with both a solar calendar and a ritual calendar, the ancient Maya imparted much meaning in the helical rising of Venus, which is made evident in the structure of several ceremonial centers throughout the area. Unlike the Megalithic and Egyptian complexes, scientific observation can be better deciphered here, because of the elaborate records left behind, and because of the fact that so many of the deductions the Maya made so closely resemble recent calculations of the same recorded cycles.
Most significantly, the relationship between the Sun and Venus was representative of Kutaikcan, the God of Venus, and symbolizes the cyclic myth of departure and return or death and resurrection.
Just as famous, is the Governor’s Palace at Uxmal. The careful planning inherent in the design and building of the Uxmal structures is made evident in the precision of their alignments, however this precision was indispensable to the planning of ritual events and the prediction of natural processes that so dictated the lives of the Maya.
Pyramid of the Magician–this pyramid stands 117 feet tall but what makes it so unusual is that it is built on an elliptical base. Because of this, you see five superimposed temples. Various sections of the first temple are visible when going up the western staircase. The second and third sections are reached from the eastern staircase at the second level through an inner chamber. Then, the fourth section of the pyramid can be seen clearly from the west side. Marking the entrance is a giant Chac mask with the mouth of the god
Afternoon visit to Kabah. Kabah is the second largest ruin of the Pucc region after Uxmal. At Kabah is the Palace of the Masks, the façade is decorated with hundreds of stone masks of the god Itzamnah the Mayan god of creation. The pattern of the stone mosaics is known as the Codz Poop, meaning “Rolled Matting”. This massive repetition of a single set of elements is unusual in Maya art, and here is used to unique effect. Overnight Merida.
Day 6: April 7th. Breakfast. Drive to Mayapan– founded in 1007 by the great ruler Kukulkan. After the fall of Chichén-Itzá around 1200, Mayapan became the dominant force in the Maya world and their center of civilization before the Spanish arrival.
This site is rarely visited and why we are going here. Fewer visitors mean better energy. The sacred city of Kukulkán is considered “The Flag City of the Mayas”. The city was founded in the year 950 AD for the Maya teacher Kukulkán, also known as the feathered serpent, the revered teacher who instructed the Maya in science, philosophy, art, religion, calendars, mathematics, and architecture.
Kukulcan was identified in Atlantis as Tehuti, in Egypt as Thoth, in Sumer as Ea or Enki, then later to Mesoamerica and Peru as Quetzalcoatl. Quetzalcoatl (feathered snake) which implies something divine or precious is Aztec. Once in the energy Paula shares the significance of this feathered serpent deity.
The Maya knew him as Kukulkna; the Quiche as Gukumatz. The feathered serpent deity was important in art and religion in most of Mesoamerica for close to 2,000 years, from the Pre-Classic era until the Spanish Conquest.
He came from an ocean, and eventually returned to it. According to Mayan legend, Gukumatz will return to the Earth during the end times. He also represents the forces of good and evil. Gukumatz was a god of the four elements of fire, earth, air and water.
Temple of Kukulkán is found in Chichen Itzá, as well as a round temple, serving as the Astronomic Observatory, which included four doors facing the four directions of the Universe. Overnight Chichen Itza
Day 7: April 8th. Breakfast. The energy at Chicen Itza is the garden of Eden. Chichén Itzá is a magical place and is beautiful with supreme energy. We check into the hotel for an afternoon of leisure and integration. Overnight Chichen Itza.
Day 8: April 9th. Breakfast. We enter Chichen Itza. Chichén Itzá is the largest of the ancient Mayan ruins on the Yucatan Peninsula. A center of Mayan pilgrimage for over 1,000 years.
The buildings of Chichén Itza are grouped in a series of architectonic sets, and each set was at one time separated from the other by a series of low walls. The three best known of these complexes are the Great North Platform, which includes the monuments of El Castillo, Temple of Warriors and the Great Ball Court. The Ossario group, which includes the pyramid of the same name as well as the Temple of Xtoloc; and the Central Group, which includes the Caracol, Las Monjas, and Akab Dzib.
El Castillo is the massive Kukulcán pyramid called El Castillo (the castle) is roughly at the center of the site. The construction of the Kukulcán Pyramid was planned so that each vernal equinox the dying sun would cast a shadow of a serpent writhing down the steps of the pyramid.
The Temple of the Warriors and its adjacent Temple of the Jaguar are the most awe inspiring ruins on the complex. A massive temple structure, surrounded by hundreds of columns is carved with reliefs.
Day 9: April 10th. Breakfast. Morning visit to Dzonot (Cenote). Cenotes exist all across the Yucatan peninsula in southern Mexico. They are underground lakes. The Mayans believed these were gateways to the world of the gods. The feminine element of water runs below the surface in underground waterways collecting in rivers and caves or cenotes. These lands of Maya (illusion) are considered feminine by indigenous people the energy of Pachamama, Heart of the Earth. Afternoon group work or leisure time to soak up the energy of Chichen Itza. Overnight Chichen Itza. Villas Arqueologicas.
Day 10: April 11th. Breakfast. We depart Chichen Itza on our way to Cancun airport or spend extra days in Cancun at the beach. On our way we stop at Ek Balam which means “black jaguar” in Mayan.
